The resurgence of Salisbury

I attended Salisbury's FA Trophy tie against Dorchester Town to speak with fans and people involved with club about their previous financial difficulties.

Salisbury City FC folded in 2014 after financial difficulties including rogue owner Outail Touzar allegedly failed to "invest a penny" into the Wiltshere-based club.

Despite this Salisbury FC emerged out of the ashes in 2015 as a phoenix club. They currently find themselves in the Southern Premier League - just one division below the National League South where the former club spent its last season.

After the Whites' 3-3 against Dorchester, I spoke with Alec Hayter, the former Commercial Director of Salisbury City about the demise and rebirth of the club. He spoke to me about the mistakes made leading to this, and what the new club is doing to stop this from happening again.

I also caught up with lifelong Salisbury fan Ray Neal after the game, where he spoke about the sadness of seeing the club he loves go through financial turmoil.

Stay posted for more clips and blog posts being posted over the next few weeks.
